Hi julie – it USED to be listed as the Sont Tien Landport, but it is NOW the Vinvh Xuong. The correct link is https://evisa.gov.vn/ and I see Vinh Xuong as number 13 on the list. The Vietnam immigration say it IS important to have the correct entry and exit details on your visa. Best of luck and let me know how you get on.

Hi,
Great post but I’m confused about the border crossing name travelling from Phnom Peng to Chau Doc when going by boat. Is it Song tien landport or the Vinh Xuong international land and river border gate?

I would love to make this trip! However, there is no such a thing like SONG TIEN LANDPORT. I’m trying to figure out which border crossing do I have to choose from this long list at the goverment site and the only one on the river with Cambodia is Vinh Xuong. Is this the one you crossed? Thank you for the article and for your help! <3

This information is excellent.
Using it, we took the boat from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc in early May without any issues.
I went one day before the trip and bought the ticket directly from the vendor at the Titanic restaurant.
It was off-season, so we were the only people on the boat!. The staff joked “VIP service!”. 🙂
The staff were great and, without asking, helped with the border crossing process, which was straight forward (we didn’t even see anyone on the Vietnamese side – our passports and visas were taken, there was a short delay, and we were back in our way).
There’s an ATM across from the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. It’s a very nice hotel in a great location, so if you can afford it, it’s highly recommended.

Hi Bart, yes, Phuong Trang is the company, they go from right in town. First bus is 05:00 and last one 23:00 – https://12go.asia/en/travel/chau-doc/ho-chi-minh/?z=175141 – they do arrive a long way out in HCMC, so plan on local buses or a Grab/taxi when you arrive there. They’re all sleeper buses.

thanks, jane, I had the same question. In addition, is it easy to find a bus from ChauDoc to HCMC? Are they every day?
