We tried every single ATM in the ATM area mentioned in the article and the smallest fee we saw was 18,000, so we still went with BBVA.

For me, I would, but (as anywhere in the world), I’d message the hotel and tell them my flight arrival time and that I was walking solo, so that someone else knows. Generally I didn’t feel unsafe at all in Colombia, day or night.
