Just wanted to say another great post. I've travelled the Maafushi to Fulidhoo boat. The return was ever so rocky so it might be good to take sea sick med if possible. Thank you. David

In reply to <a href="https://asocialnomad.com/maldives/male-to-maafushi/#comment-186053">Ben</a>.

Hi Ben, I totally understand we had the same concerns, but never found a ferry that we couldn't get on (and with space for all). Arrive and get your ticket earlier, we usually got there about 30-45 minutes beforehand. Then go to the designated waiting space, in the waiting room the doors "at the other end" of the space to where the tickets are sold are where you'll exit out towards the ferries (it will be obvious when you see them). It is a very orderly boarding process - the staff won't let you crowd or queue jump etc. The Maafushi ferry has a lot of room. Bags are stored in a different area, so you won't find bags taking up seating space and all that. I would just arrive early, wait in the designated space. If you are truly worried, then your option is to book the speedboat, but I honestly don't think you need to worry.

Thanks a lot for the useful information. One thing keeps worrying me, which is whether the ferry from Male to Maafushi might be full and cannot accommodate any more passengers, and therefore I will have no other means of getting to Maafushi, as the afternoon ferry might be the last one for Maafushi on that day.
